The foot

Hi in this post i am talking about the foot. The foot is a term used to measure length it is a non SI unit .A foot equals to 30.48cm.I think the foot is not suitable to measure length as it can only be used to measure objects that are large in size but not the smaller ones and so it may be inaccurate when measuring the shorter objects.

The enemies of Bees

Hi in this post I am going to talk about the enemies of bees.
Firstly we have the Honey Bee they steal the honey of the bees.

Secondly we have the Death's Head Hawk Moththis moth flies into bee hives in the dark at night and lick their honey with its long tongue.

Thirdly we have the Blister Beetle Grub it ambushes bees when they are picking pollen in a flower and hitches a free ride back to their hive where they will hide in their cells and eat the grubs of the bees.

Fourth the mouse is another animal who steals honey but their bodies are hard to move so the bees cover them with gum from trees and also to stop them from stinking

Fiftth is the Humans they want their honey to eat and bee's wax to make candles

Lastly is the Cuckoo Bee they look like bees but once they are inside they will lay their eggs in the hive

Some facts about the Doppler effect

Hi in this post I will be talking about the Doppler effect that was discovered by an Austrian scientist named Christian Doppler.Doppler thoght that a moving sound always changes pitch in the same way which is the Doppler effect. When the sound waves comes towards a person they are squashed together. So one will hear the sound in quick succession at a high frequency. As the sound moves away one hears it at alower frequency because the sound waves are more widely spread. This was tested by a sccientist by putting a band of buglers to play on a moving train and have the train to drive past him.

Some facts about fruits and vegetables

Hi this post is about fruits and vegetables.People tend to mix up fruit and vegetables. Some people think that all fruits are sweet and vegetables are not sweet that is how to tell the difference. But they are wrong. Not all fruits sweet tasting. Some fruits are savoury and some are sour.Actually to tell between a fruit and a vegetable you have to see whether whatever you are eating started off as an ovary or not? If it started off as an ovary it is a fruit if not it is a vegetable.

The Inch

Inch is another form of measuring length normally we do not use the Inch because 1 inch is equals to 2.54 centimetres and so we would normally use centimetres but in countries such as America and the United Kingdom the inch is widely used there as a form of measurement of length.

My opinions on the NASA incident

I think that just because of the lack of the units millions of dollars were lost it was very careless of them to just assume and not make sure. This tells us that we have to put units or there may be misunderstandings luckily there was nobody killed or injured. No matter what we must have units who would have thought that such a minor thing such as units could result in the loss of millions.

Some facts about Beetles

Hi in this post I will be talking about Beetles. There are at least 350 ,000 species of beetles worldwide, which is more than any other kind of animal. You might think that ladybirds are a group of insects by themselves but actually they belong to a bug family called coccinellidae which belong to the order of beetles. Most beetles have distinguishing features such as short feelers, folded forewings over the hind wings to protect their body.

Some facts of light

HI in this post I am talking about light.Light is basically what allows us to see around us.There is light around us in our everyday life.Did you know that light travels at the speed of 313 300km/s.Light also travels in a straight line and light reflects. These are some basic facts but what I found most interesting about light is that when light passes through water light is reflected and therefore instead of passing right through, the beam of light will be bent.So if you see a fish there it is actually not at the spot you think it is at but some where away due to the refraction of light .Also the refraction of light is also the very same thing that causes mirages in deserts.
